Commissioning of 275 Kent St Trigeneration Plant

Also known as Westpac Place, 275 Kent St. in Sydney, has significantly increased its energy efficiency levels and reducing its Green House Gas emissions.

Westpac Place is one of only 13 Premium Grade assets in the Sydney CBD.

Mirvac, who owns the building, after analysing ways to further add value to the building, determined that a key market demand from their tenants is for energy efficiency in a cost effective manner.

As part of a major building upgrade with the specific purpose to uplift the NABERS rating  a key component of this project was the installation of a trigeneration system.

With the trigeneration system  Mirvac will reduce their CO2 emissions by an estimated 2300[1]tonnes per annum.

This CO2, emissions reduction have a target of being able to contribute to an increase of up to 1 star of NABERS, making it among the most sustainable buildings in Sydney for its size.

Mirvac have also received awards for this buildings contribution to energy efficiency from the Facility Management Industry. Additionally this building is participating and providing feedback to the Green Star Performance Tool Beta Testing, being developed by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA)[2].
