Established in September 2006, Cogent Energy was fully acquired by Origin Energy Retail, forming part of the Origin New Business Ventures group. As part of Origin, Cogent’s capabilities have been significantly enhanced, particularly by gaining considerable financial backing, access to competitive natural gas supply and also expertise in energy market risk management and energy market operations. Cogent Energy complements Origin Energy’s other energy management services by delivering innovative cogeneration and trigeneration technologies and solutions.

• Blair Healy

  W. Blair Healy is the founder and Manager of Cogent Energy. He has a solid background in establishing and managing successful enterprise technology companies. Blair has been the CEO and MD of various private and public technology companies including Nortel Networks Korea, Kusp Limited and Innovonics Limited. Blair is a graduate of the Royal Military College Duntroon and has an honours degree in Electrical Engineering from University of NSW.

• Nalin Wickramasinghe

  Nalin Wickramasinghe is Cogent’s Manager for NSW. He has over 15 years experience in sales & marketing within the energy industry. Nalin spent 9 years in energy retailing having joined Energy Australia as a senior sales executive at the commencement of contestability. Most recently he was Major Customer Sales Manager at Integral Energy. Prior to that he was with BOC Gases in a range sales and marketing roles. Nalin started his career as a process metallurgist working for Fletcher Steel (NZ) and BHP Steel. He has a Bachelor of Metallurgy from the University of Wollongong and a MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

• Andrew Cogger

  Andrew Cogger is Cogent’s Systems and Business Development Manager. Andrew has over 14 years experience in firmware and software engineering, secure network design and IT-based security systems engineering. Before joining Cogent Energy Andrew held several senior roles in business development and systems engineering with Innovonics Limited, including 2 ½ years as the General Manager for Innovonics’ European offices in the UK. Andrew has an honours degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
